So ein Mein-Handy-gehört-dem-wie-ich-es-im-custom-rom-festgelegt-habe kann schon, wie so ziemlich jedes andere Handy VCF Visitenkarten exportieren.

Wie gesagt ist mir eine Synchronisation meiner Kontakte nicht so wichtig (mit Google synchronisiert auch Android nur wenn Du es erlaubst), aber WENN eine Synchronfunktion, dann sollte man die für das am weitesten verbeitetste (bzw. schnell wachsendste) Handy-OS  der Welt machen und das ist nunmal Android und letzteres ist zumindest weitestgehend opensource.

Und warum (wenn überhaupt) kein Android unterstützen? Das kann ich nicht nachvollziehen... Symbian ist (so gut wie) tot, Windows Mobile 7 kommt nicht in Schwung und iPhone User geben ihr Geld lieber für sauteure PCs (ach, die heissen ja jetzt auch Apple) aus... da bleiben nicht viele gängige Handyplattformen übrig... und mein altes Siemens ME45 kann ich noch über serielle Schnittstelle mit dem Falcon synchronisieren, da gibt es ne Software für MiNT, also "Retro" closes source Handyuser sind schon versorgt :)

Und dass ICQ keiner nutzen will wäre mir neu...  ;)

Ich möchte Atari060 in jeglicher Form zustimmen. Bis auf:

Symbian ist nicht so gut wie tot, sondern definitiv Geschichte. Spätestens nachdem Nokia sich an Microsoft verschenkt hat.

Ich habe auch ein Android und das Pirate Rum - Rom drauf und nutze nichtmal den Market sondern fDroid. Also nix imt google weisz von allem, ich hab nämlich kein google talk darauf. Das ist ja das tolle an Open Source OS :)

Und ICQ suckt.

Kommt doch ins dezentrale, opensource Jabber netz. Wir sind auch schon mit Joakim im Gespräch zwecks Implementierung in aICQ. Ein jabber acc hat er auch schon ;)

Thanks Jo Even! That´s exactly how I see the situation. It´s also good to see such a public statement of an other teammember. For information, joska counted in by himselve here at atari-home. We did not talk about it, and there is no plan. It´s just joskas opinion, that was not previously (internally) discussed or anything else.

Das ist eine sehr vernünftige Herangehensweise. Wenn ich bedenke was in den letzten beiden Jahren passiert ist, dann entspricht das auch ca. meinen Erwartungen.

Zwischendurch mal was, was funktioniert:

Wir haben gerade News zum mittlerweile gut benutzbaren USB-Treiber veröffentlicht (Hot Swapping im Betrieb) Mass Storage für FAT16/32 ext2 oder alle zukünftig von MiNT untersützen Dateisysteme lange Dateinamen usw.   8)

It doesn't really matter if the printer supports PS or not. If it doesn't it only means more work for the printserver which must do the conversion itself. This is exactly what e.g. CUPS does. The conversion is completely transparent to the user.

I would be surprised if there are any "Atari power users" left today, I'm sure all of them has a more mainstream computer too. Windows, OSX and Linux can all act as printservers. Of course, it's easier with a PC where you usually can just connect the printer and the printerdriver is automatically installed, but such support is not realistic for a tiny, idealistic platform as TOS/MiNT.
