Hi,
Sorry only in English.... sorry, beantworten in Englisch.
Yes, asking the question in Atari-forum would certainly get a reply faster from me.
The google translator works ok, but it does not allow me to logon here... or rather atari-home.de does not allow login via translator. So I need to logon and navigate via German language.
Also I visit here only when the office is real boring LOL, as the firewall seems not blocking this site....
To answer your question, you do not need an expensive multi-fuction printer to use this. PHERP will work with any LPD, WinPrint (port 910) or Google Cloud Print.
Just install LPD server on your windows or linux, and connect PHERP to the server-printer.
The file must be in PCL-5 format for normal network printer. If your network printer contains Postcript module, then PS will also work.
You use NVDI laserjet-4 driver (in other thread) and save to file. The file will be in PCL5 format.
Then you can use folder monitoring of PHERP to sent file to remote network printer automatically.
(may work for you... )
To create PDF, one way I found was to use Google Cloud Print.
I share my Adobe Acorbat printer on my Windoze via Chrome. So now you can print to it via the internet from anywhere, including your Atari
.
Then logon to Google via PHERP and it will tell you a security code. You enter the security code on Windows side with the URL given by PHERP. This autentication is good for several months, so you do not need to do it again even after you reboot or turn off the Atari.
Now just drag your PCL-5 file over to PHERP and your PDF will be available on the Windows (windows will ask you to where to save the file).
Danke Mathias, hast schon Recht, suche eher was kleineres
LG,
Chris
