I know that there was a non-standard disk format called "Hyper Density" - a term coined by the author of the well-known and quite popular "Scheibenkleister" book. It clocked the FDC with 10 MHz (not 16 MHz, as a high density kit would do) and that was switchable by PSG port 6 (as documented on the "Kleisterscheibe"). This format allowed 13 sectors / track, the downside being that it was not readable on computers without that mod.
You can find a kit that supports both "hyper density" and "high density" here: http://www.wrsonline.de/hdkit.html. The hyper density switching is done with the PSG, whereas the high density (1.44 MB) switching is done via a signal from the drive (as in your high density kit).
EDIT: That 10-MHz/"hyper density" mod is mentioned in the FastCopy Pro documentation, as well.

Danke Tschitz.

The disk image on Atari Mania (http://www.atarimania.com/utility-atari-st-fastcopy-f-copy_33153.html) has a changelog (of sorts) in form of a file UPDATE.TXT. It's in German, though, as the author of Fast Copy is German.

PS:
1. See below for a screenshot of the "Kleisterscheibe" mentioning PSG port 6 as switch for the "hyper density" mod.
2. ST-Computer article that briefly mentions port 6 with respect to "hyper density": https://www.stcarchiv.de/stc1991/09/farb-mono-umschaltung-per-software
Then again, using these unused PSG outputs to switch HW mods is quite common. Some people use it to switch their overscan mods; and iirc my Hypercache accelerator is also switched in this way.

Danke Tschitz.
Do you mean Zietz? :D

I've split up this thread an put the misunderstandings in the internal trash directory. It's the translation software who makes the mistakes, not the user.
