Question about Falcon030 ram and ST expansion

I got a Falcon030 with an original 14MB expansion. I read about the Magnum Fast ram for the Falcon. Is this an extension for the Falcon or is this just a normal memory expansion.

Fast ram sounds like the TT that has ST ram and TT ram.

I read the german manual but its hard to read for me so if anyone can answer my question that would be nice.

I also have seen this magnum ST expansion, is this a usefull upgrade for the ST when using 16MB and is that 16MB is normal ST ram or something special ?

You can only use it if a 4MB Memory Card is installed.
Total RAM is 8 or 12MB.

The additional RAM is Fast Ram. Driver is necessary.

Can the video memory be in the area of the Magnum Falcon and/or is the RAM access there faster than to the main memory?

You mean "Alternate RAM". Magnum STs RAM is not faster than main memory RAM, isn’t it?

TT-RAM is also known as Alternate Ram, Alternate Ram is a bit Faster then the normal ST-Ram but only the CPU has Access to this ram, so no videounit or other chips have access to this Memory.

But im my opininion the Magnum Falcon makes no sense in the Falcon self. It makes only sense when you have a Video Card like the Nova or the eclipse because it needs the memory between 10-14Mb ram. Best is a 14Mb memory card, i think you can get one from Lynxman.

Yes the alternate ram is a bit faster because only the cpu has access to this memory.. In the TT it is a bit different there also the DMA has access to the TT-Ram .

The Memory speed with Alternate Ram on a Magnum ST has the same Speed as the original build in ST Ram. So I guess it is with the Falcon Magnum the same ...
